Swedish Citizen, former Distinguished Professor of Political Science, University of Florida, author of some twenty books, 40 articles and an equal number of book chapters dealing with politics, governance and development issues with a regional focus especially on Africa. His most recent consultancies include (1) for Swedish Interntional Development Authority (SIDA) 2015-16 to study the agency’s support to public institutions 2003-14 (Team Leader); (2) for the UNDP 2013), authoring the 2013 Rwanda MDG Report (Team Leader). In 2015 he was awarded the prestigious Distinguished Africanist Award.
