Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir has worked in diverse constituencies, namely, academia, governments, think-tanks, international organisations, and media. He is engaged in research for pioneering new approaches to developmental public policies and designing innovative alternative solutions on the ground. Dr. Titumir is on the boards of different regional and national organisations and is the founding Chairperson of the Unnayan Onneshan, a multidisciplinary independent think-tank and served on the Syndicate, the decision making body of university. Dr. Titumir received education from the universities of Dhaka, London and Carleton in economics, development and financial economics, and trade policy and commercial diplomacy respectively.
